Bernice's Tavern is a pretty quintessential dive bar in Bridgeport. Granted you're not going to come here for a fine dining experience and expensive wines and white table cloths. You'll come here for a normal bar with people whom you can chat with and have a few drinks near. That's all that this place offers. Does that make it bad? Not necessarily.
Bernice's Tavern caries a great number of bottled domestics and imported beers. You can always feel comfortable knowing that when you walk into Bernice's Tavern that you'll be able to get the beer of your choice regardless of what it is. They offer anything from Pabst Blue Ribbon for a low price or something as exotic as Lithuanian beers like Ekstra. Whatever it is that you desire is something that they'll be able to offer.
Bernice's Tavern was established in 1965 and has been a family run business ever since. They've been in the same location for over 45 years. The building, however, was in operation far before Bernice's Tavern took it over. The building had been an operating tavern before the days of and continuing through prohibition. There's a lot of history and if you like dives then they'd love to have you as part of their history.
